Wow.. how quickly a year goes by! You are only two quarters from being in 9th grade!
Grade recovery information has been distributed to the students who failed one or more classes. A student who wishes to complete a grade recovery packet to receive a maximum grade of 70 needs to do so during tutoring sessions after school. Please reference the information sheet your child brought home for more specific details.
Please keep an eye on the assignment web page. Classes have been running a little behind and there are times the homework has been modified to reflect what was actually accomplished in class that day.
The 8th grade writing assessment is right around the corner on February 1st!
Many parents and students ask about extra credit. The students have been repeatedly instructed that they can re-work ANY warm up, at any time for extra credit. The warm ups are the basis for our Friday Assessments, and any time the students spend extra time reviewing them is a way for them to excel on the weekly tests. Extra credit will be complied at the end of the quarter. Please be sure to title the extra credit work with the title from the original warm up worksheet.
I'm THRILLED to see how many parents and students have been checking the assignments page! Keep it up!

Wow! Times sure flies when we are hard at work! We are getting close to the end of the first quarter already! This Friday (9/30) is EXAM DAY for all Math classes!
Science Classes have Exams on Wednesday October 5th.
Tuesday October 11th, all 8th graders will be taking the Explore test.
Fall break Starts October 17-- only 3 weeks away!
Mrs. Gott's Math student have an open opportunity for extra credit-- Re-work the weeks warm up on a separate sheet of paper, and have a guardian sign it. Please take some time and ask your students questions. They should be able to explain the answer each question. If this is done daily, extra credit won't be NEEDED, because they will be PREPARED for the Assessments! :)
I'm VERY excited to see so many students checking the website! We have had almost 500 hits!
The H.W. Quiz the students took last Thursday (9/21) was an epic success! 85% of students EARNED 100%! I'm so happy to see students taking the time to SHOW and CHECK their work! Papers should be handed out Monday in class and grades updated in powerschool by Tuesday. Many of these quizzes are refrigerator-worthy. Ask your child to show them to you!
